Supply Lines and Insurance Subrogation
The words insurance subrogation means "when a third party pays a creditor" according to Merriam-Webster. It is the act of someone else paying for the problem that occurred. The most often time that subrogation is used for insurance is on a water loss involving a supply line.
The supply line is located on toilets, fridges, sinks, and washing machines in the home. Anywhere that uses water will have a water supply line. Most metal braided supply lines installed in homes have lifetime warranties. If a supply line fails water intrudes and damages the home. Do not throw the broken supply line away. Your insurance company will treat the water loss the same but try and get the supply line company to pay back the damages. If the company is successfully subrogate against you will receive your deductible back and the claim will be "Like it never even happened."
