How to Avoid Fire Damage

Avoiding Fire Damage In Your Conroe Home

"Fire load" is a term used by firefighters to determine how much material will burn. Our homes are becoming more full of "stuff" or "fire load". Have you ever wished you could park your car in your garage. Have you dreamed about finishing the basement but need the storage space? If you've had these thoughts before you might be contributing to your fire load.

Getting rid of stuff that you have not used or needed in years can reduce the amount of fire load in your home. These stored items are fuel for a fire which will continue to burn until the entire house is engulfed. Less items in the home means a fire will have a harder time moving from one area to another.

Your local firefighters will often have cleanup days where they can use your unwanted stuff and give it to a charity.
