One month ago, a devastating storm ravaged our neighbors in Louisiana, a natural disaster of historic proportions. As we in the Houston area are well aware, recovery from flood damage requires considerable effort, time, and resources.

In fact, as part of a national network of professional emergency response teams, SERVPRO of The Woodlands and Conroe was honored to be tapped to assist with the Louisiana flood cleanup and restoration process. Three crews were mobilized to assist devastated communities, only two days after the water rose.

The SERVPRO team stayed in the area for over a month, and was an integral part of the restoration of two businesses—the Movie Tavern at Juban Crossing, and Dixie RV. Our teams are qualified and prepared to handle the level of water damage sustained, having overseen the cleanup and restoration of countless Houston water damaged properties over the years. We have the training, equipment, experience, and dedication to help communities get back on their feet quickly after a natural disaster strikes.

Staying committed to completing cleanup and restoration work on time is essential. To aid in the healing of communities, it is imperative that services are brought back and normalcy is returned.

For The Movie Tavern, this is particularly important, since it will host independent film festival CineFlix Fest in October. The historic Louisiana floods also personally affected John Schneider, the actor, director, and producer who runs CineFlix, but he remains steadfast in his commitment to bring the festival back to the community on schedule. The Houston SERVPRO teams onsite are proud to be assisting with the water damage cleanup and restoration so The Movie Tavern can go on with the show!

Also affected by the floodwaters, Dixie RV Superstore in Hammond, Louisiana, is host to SERVPRO of The Woodlands and Conroe. CEO Greg Lala estimates that this business sustained $30 million in damage. For any business, this level of damage can seem insurmountable. However, with the perseverance of staff and the SERVPRO team, Dixie RV is well on its way to recovering the 100,000 square foot facility. As part of the recovery process, it is imperative to get the facility back up and operating as quickly as possible, so all 120 employees can get back to work.

The Gulf Coast, from the tip of Texas to the tip of Florida, has always had its share of severe weather and natural disasters. As part of the national SERVPRO network, your Houston SERVPRO team is proud to be called upon for their expertise in the midst of disaster. When a natural disaster strikes, SERVPRO teams across the country mobilize quickly, often within hours, and dispatch to begin the cleanup and restoration process. Yet even when we venture out to assist our neighbors in need, we still keep teams planted locally to handle any sudden Houston storm damage, sewage damage, and fire damage.
